Evaluation on Ecological Environment of City Based on Entropy and Dissipative Structure Theory—In Case of Dangyang in Hubei Province  [PDF]

Abstract:

Evaluation on ecological environment system is to describe and assess the quality of ecological environment, and accurately reflect the ecological environmental quality and pollution situation. In this paper, after reviewing the domestic and foreign relative researches, from the theory perspective of the dissipative structure of complex system, we analyzed the city ecological system dissipative structure characteristic, and discussed the process forming dissipative structure, then we constructed the city ecosystem entropy parameter table and entropy evaluated model. The total entropy dynamic, scientifically reflects the city ecology system level and developing trend, so in fact it provides the theory basis and method to improve the overall quality of ecological environment, finally we took Dangyang as a case study, and got the same conclusion with the actual situation.

Abstract:
Perceptions of Organizational Politics and employee silence, as two topics to be avoided in organizations, have long drawn widespread attention in the field of organizational behavior and human resources. Based on the theory of social exchange and the theory of individual-organization fit, this paper aims to explore the relationship between the Perceptions of Organizational Politics and employee silence, as well as the Regulatory effect of Conscientiousness and organizational identification. Firstly, it defines the definitions and dimensions of the four variables (Perceptions of Organizational Politics, employee silence, organizational identity and Conscientiousness) through literature review at home and abroad. Based on the existing research results, this study starts from the social exchange theory and individual-organization fit theory, it constructs a model of the impact of organizational political perception on employees’ silence and puts forward hypotheses, in which organizational identification and Conscientiousness are two regulatory variables. Then through a rigorous empirical study to prove the research model proposed in this paper.
A Characteristic Analysis of One-Dimensional Two-Fluid Model with Interfacial Area Transport Equation

Abstract: An interfacial area transport equation (IATE), proposed to dynamically describe the interfacial structure evolution of two-phase flows, could help improve the predictive capability of the two-fluid model. The present study aims to investigate the well-posedness issue of a one-dimensional two-fluid model with the IATE (named “two-fluid-IATE model” hereafter) using a characteristic analysis. The momentum flux parameters, which take into account the coupling of the volumetric fraction of phase and velocity distributions over the cross-section of a flow passage, are employed. A necessary condition for the system to achieve hyperbolicity under an adiabatic flow condition is identified. A case study is performed for an adiabatic liquid-liquid slug flow, which shows that the hyperbolicity of the two-fluid-IATE model is guaranteed if appropriate correlations of the momentum flux parameters are applied in the two-fluid-IATE model. 1. Introduction In modeling of two-phase flows, it is realized that the one-dimensional two-fluid model is widely applied in many computer codes [1, 2]. Also, interfacial area transport equations (IATEs), which could capture the interfacial structure evolution through modeling the bubbles/droplets interactions (coalescence and/or disintegration) as well as phase change (boiling, evaporation, or condensation) [3–9], are developed in the framework of the two-fluid model. These IATEs belong to two categories: one-group and two-group models. The one-group IATE models small fluid particles, such as spherical bubbles, and therefore is only applicable to bubbly flows, while the two-group IATE takes into account both small and large fluid particles for applications in flows beyond bubbly flow. For simplicity, the two-fluid model with IATEs is named “two-fluid-IATE model” hereafter. A successful model proposed for solving physical problems must first satisfy four principles, that is, equipresence, well-posedness, frame invariance, and fulfillment of the second law of thermodynamics. Mathematically, a well-posed problem means that the solution should exist, be unique, and depend continuously on variables. Insights into the field of the well-posedness of the two-fluid-IATE model are of great significance. In contrast to the single-phase Eulerian model, which has real characteristic roots inherently guaranteed by the second law of thermodynamics, the standard form of the partial differential equations in the two-fluid model may not be strictly hyperbolic as an initial value problem [10, 11]. Orthogonal Maximum Margin Projection for Face Recognition

Abstract: Dimensionality reduction techniques that can introduce low-dimensional feature representation with enhanced discriminatory power are of paramount importance in face recognition. In this paper, a novel subspace learning algorithm called orthogonal maximum margin projection(OMMP) is proposed. The OMMP algorithm is based on the maximum margin projection (MMP), which aims at discovering both geometrical and discriminant structures of the face manifold. First, OMMP considers both the local manifold structure and class label information by using the within-class and between-class graphs, as well as characterizing the separability of different classes with the margin criterion, then OMMP orthogonalizes the basis vectors of the face subspace. Experimental results on three databases show the effectiveness of the proposed OMMP algorithm.

A Corpus-based Study of Developmental Stages of Demonstratives in Chinese English Majors’ Writing

Abstract: On the basis of comparisons between the corpus of English Majors’ Composition of Ludong University (EMC corpus) and other corpora as well as among different levels in EMC corpus, this thesis studies the feature of using frequency and stages of development of demonstratives used by Chinese English Majors. The result reveals that English Majors of lower and higher grades tend to overuse and underuse demonstratives respectively; with their better and better command of English, the using frequency of demonstratives tends to be closer to that of native speakers’ except for the proportion of the using frequency of singular to plural demonstratives as demonstrative pronouns as well as the using frequency of plural demonstratives.
An Efficient Discriminant Analysis Algorithm for Document Classification

Abstract: Document categorization has become one of the most important research areas of pattern recognition and data mining due to the exponential growth of documents in the Internet and the emergent need to organize them. The document space is always of very high dimensionality and learning in such a high dimensional space is often impossible due to the curse of dimensionality. To cope with performance and accuracy problems with high dimensionality, a novel dimensionality reduction algorithm called IKDA is proposed in this paper. The proposed IKDA algorithm combines kernel-based learning techniques and direct iterative optimization procedure to deal with the nonlinearity of the document distribution. The proposed algorithm also effectively solves the so-called “small sample size” problem in document classification task. Extensive experimental results on two real world data sets demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed algorithm.
Nitrogen-Doped Carbons in Li–S Batteries: Materials Design and Electrochemical Mechanism

Abstract: Li–S batteries have been considered as next generation Li batteries because of their high-theoretical energy density. Over the past few years, researchers have made significant efforts in breaking through critical bottlenecks, which impede the commercialization of Li–S batteries. Beginning with a basic introduction to Li–S systems and their associated mechanism, this review will highlight the application of one specific carbon family, nitrogen-doped carbon materials in sulfur-based cathodes. These materials will include nitrogen-doped porous carbon, carbon nanotubes, nanofibers, and graphene. The article will conclude with a summary of recent research efforts in this field as well as the future prospects for the use of nitrogen-doped carbon materials in Li–S batteries.
